  • Colors in the Night Sky

This was the most colorful display of aurora I've ever seen! It was captured in late April of 2017 sometime between 11pm and 3am. We drove from Anchorage to Fairbanks hoping to see the aurora one last time before the season ended. It was well worth it!

  • Autumn Aurora

This was one of my first aurora pictures. It was around midnight and I was about to go to bed when I saw on social media that the aurora was out. I went outside and fumbled with my camera trying to capture a decent image. I got lucky when the aurora suddenly became really bright that the light from the near by street lamp didn't matter. It actually illuminated the birch tree in the foreground, which created a really nice contrast of colors between the northern lights and the autumn leaves. September | 2015 | Anchorage | Alaska

  • Aurora Trail

Captured along the trail to Flattop Mountain in Anchorage, Alaska (2016).

  • Frozen Lake Journey

Winter explorers taking advantage of the frozen Portage Lake to make it to the face of Portage Glacier, which is normally only accessible by tour boats. From far away, this looks like a scene from the documentary "March of the Penguins."
